How is XtremityOne better than other systems?

Pressure Mat Systems. In order to create a custom orthotic, the natural, non-weight bearing shape of the patient’s foot must be captured. In reality, when the patient stands on, for example, a pressure mat, their pathology is captured instead of their natural shape. In essence, orthotics produced from a weight-bearing shape fail to correct and may actually enhance the patient’s pathology. Corrections to the pressure mat models are left to the hand of technicians. With the XtremityOne system, the practitioner can be assured that the accurate shape of the patient’s foot is captured. The practitioner then determines the prescription for orthotic correction based on their physical evaluation of the patient’s weight bearing pathology. PAL’s technicians are highly skilled in custom manufacturing, but we prefer to leave medical judgments in the hands of the practitioner.
